Better...

I am feeling better thanks to lemsip and industrial quantities of fruit.
So, being bored I watched a lecture about cryptography...interesting but not enough detail
I joined twitter.com....haven't discovered what the point of that is yet
I sort of surfed around and look what I found, clickety click
......... a veritable goldmine for those of you who like unusual cover versions. This should keep me away from my essay for a while, hurrah!!!

my god, you're obviously worse than you thought - have a wiskey (with an H I suppose as you're Irish) add honey, the juice of a lemon and some hot water, down it in one. Afterwards you'll realise you felt quite well :)

Hi realdoc, I was just going to suggest a hot lemon and whisky toddy but ziggi beat me too it. I had a similar lurgi, and am feeling miles better at last - evidence based result for whisky I think! Hope you feel better tomorrow.

It's clear to me that the only possible purpose of twitter is to give people a way to quickly share their own irritation, loneliness, boredom or smugness when they have exactly 20 free seconds of time. At least, that's what I use it for..

retroCrush looks intriguing!

Glad you pulled yourself together. we needed your assistance, with both bat and ball. I'm sure the fresh air put some colour* back in your cheeks.

I sympathise realdoc - I seem to have the same - aching joints, painful breathing, runny nose and general grumpiness due to the above.

Just going to swig some Benylin4flu mixture - I'm sure it should be taken off the market - it's very strong but awfully good.

Take care now. x

lemsip and fruit are my standard things consumed when ill.

Yes life is slowly getting back to normal, except this year unlike most years I will not be watching the Hootenanny but will be going to some black tie effort. Just what I needed another night on the tiles.

You should have rubbed the bacon fat into your chest realdoc. That keeps the colds out. You might think I am joking, but my mother used to rub goose fat into our chests when we were kids and she was a qualified nurse.

Glad you are feeling much better. I think there might be something in this 5 fruit and veg a day thing.

I have been a bit poorly too. Got a rose thorn stuck deep in my finger the weekend before Christmas and I tried to ignore my ever-swelling finger and hand until I could no longer move it at all by the 27th. My GP said I just made it to him in time or I would have needed hospitalisation for intra-venous antibiotics. Was he just trying to scare me to brighten up his day do you think?
