I am now officially a multimedia realdoc!

Well, my sister got me all the stuff to do it for my birthday so it seemed a shame not to do it even though the result sounds like amateur hour on Radio Ballykissarse without the ads for pig feed.
Anyway hope some of you like the music on it and all that.

*UPDATE* I've changed the link so it should work now. Thanks annie.

Except it didn't work. I've probably done something wrong...i'll try again.

No, I can't get it to work either.

How are you on medical procedures, Doc?

I'm not entirely sure what's gone wrong here but if you scroll down the code to the third mpeg file and then paste it into the browser, it will play

hurrah! will listen on the way to work, which should make getting up tomorrow all worth it...

psst... I find switchpod (or bitchslut, as Rockmother calls it when it goes wrong) not very user friendly - this link is for the feed - if you go to your account page you can probably find the link for your 'cast page' which makes it easier to access.

Marvellous, have downloaded for later listening!

I'm afraid it didn't make a lot of sense to me, but maybe I'm too old.

Or not Irish.

Or something.

Back again, and got it to work properly this time (before all I could get were adverts).

So wierd to hear a blogger's voice.

That's what I said the first time I met Phil, anyway.

Sorry, I didn't get up and dance.

Well done anyway. Would you like to record one of my sermons now?

Go on dave I'd love to hear one of your sermons.

Glad you liked it everyone else.

I liked the music a lot - but Realdoc, what a great voice! So musical... Give up the medical management and move into radio immediately.

How do you download it? Sorry to be thick but I've been trying for ages and can't get it. Could it be yet another thing that doesn't work on a mac?

Oops I am thick. I didn't see the 'press here to download' button. Congrats on your first podcast. I really liked David Kitt and I loved Smog.

I particularly liked it when you relaxed and talked about the music. I could listen to you talk about music all day, but then I have Stockholm syndrome given that I was quite literally a captive audience for about 10 years.

You taught me everything I know about music, which admittedly is not much, but it's still enough to get an impressed look from the trendy indie twenty-something boys at work, when they check out my ipod. Given that i'm a wrinkled old crone, I'll take my kicks where I can get them.

n.b one correction, Neil Hannon is not from Enniskillen, but Clogher, which wouldn't even amount to a 1-horse town, his Dad was the bishop there. Which also puzzled me because how could a town that small (when I say only 1 pub most irish people will know that's seriously small) have a church with a bishop (Is that called a See or is that something else?)? But I always think of the bus route Ogher, Clogher Fivemiletown and the sound of the bus, "Ogher, Clogher Fivemiletown, Ogher, Clogher, Fivemiletown" It's sort of rythmic. Anyway I digress, sorry.

Great podcast, looking forward to the next one.

Cool. I was a bit unsure on the first track, but then I got lured in by the rest. Good to hear the New York Dolls, that brings back a whole era of my life when I was hitting the slam pits and coming home late at night with random injuries...

The Magnetic Fields song was hilarious (I think I have heard it before, but it bears repeating). The Thin Lizzy cover was truly fantastic. Will have to look for more of David Kitt's work.

Gotta love Tom Lehrer. I grew up on his silliness (and that of Allan Sherman). He lives in California now :-) The Divine Comedy reminds me of early Neil Diamond, which is probably not what you want to hear, but I mean something about the voice and the whole '60s feel, which is presumably intentional...

You have the most excellent radio voice, girl! We look forward to more realdocasts. As you can see, there are more than three of us out here.

Listened to your first podcast with interest..you have a good presence with your voice and personality...good mixture of songs and stuff. There was one I really liked, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was? I'll listen again.

It is a rather nervous time isn't it doing a debut podcast? and I should know, but you did brilliantly....you sounded relaxed but I'm sure there was some trepidation in there as well! keep it up....do more.....jif

Oooo thanks for all the positive feedback. They are rather daunting but I might have another go when the mania of Christmas has subsided.

Oooh excellent stuff, especially the magnetic fields :)

I've downloaded it - I will have to burn stuff to disk for in-car listening!

Blogger won't let me post normally. I don't want a blummin google account and

it won't let me log in with my blogger account and won't accept "other" either.

Grrrr.
