Stolen meme thing

vicus did this meme and I thought it rather splendid so I have nicked it. I left out some questions as they seemed a bit irrelevant to me.

1. Put your ipod on shuffle

2. For each question press the next button to get your answer.

3. Don't cheat

What would best describe your personality?

Lady Madonna - The Beatles

What do you like in a girl/guy?

Brass Buttons - Gram Parsons

How do you feel today?

Learning To Fly - Pink Floyd

What's your life's purpose?

Reach Out I'll Be There - The Four Tops

What's your motto?

Never Can Say Goodbye -The Communards

What do your friends think of you?

Fido, Your Leash is Too Long - The Magnetic Fields

What is your life story?

What Can I Do? - Antony and the Johnsons

What do you want to be when you grow up?

Bright College Days - Tom Lehrer

What do strangers think of you?

Karma Police - Radiohead

How's your love life?

Goodbye to Love - The Carpenters

What will they play at your funeral?

What's your biggest secret?

These Boots are Made for Walking - Nancy Sinatra

What do you think of your friends?

Everybody Knows (Except You) - Divine Comedy

What song do you listen to when you are sad?

Decatur - Sufjan Stevens

Not a Crime - Gogol Bordello

What's your signature karaoke song?

Justified and Ancient - KLF

What is your greatest desire?

The Masochism Tango - Tom Lehrer

How will you die?

Ther She Goes Again - The Velvet Underground

Do people secretly lust after you?

What's the best advice you will ever get?

Smokestack Lightnin' - Howlin' Wolf

Well, I'm not sure that was very enlightening although the combination of having a personality like Lady Madonna and having to 'Say Goodbye to Love' is a bit worrying.

I'd say the same thing here as I said at vic's, but I can't be bothered.

Your friends think your leash is too long?!!

Dave is being bitter again, even though he has added "The Complete Beverley Sisters" to his music collection.

Brass Buttons gives me a lump in my throat. I always associate it with the death of a mother though it probably isn't that at all.

I've never wanted a partner who reminds me of my mother.

I always think of you as a 30 something but this choice of music looks more like mine - are you 106 too?

The Masochism Tango? Oho...

dave:I'm not sure how you would do this with a wind up gramophone.

billy: yes, but I am friends with Max Moseley

vicus: It's the acid that gives him kidney stones.

geoff: gram parsons does that, doesn't he. Ditto the mother thing yeuch

ziggi: Not 106, just a very catholic taste in music.

annie: um yes this meme does seem to suggest S&M tendencies I didn't know I had

The prospect of hearing you sing "We're all bound for mu mu land" might actually get me to witness a karaoke for the first time in my life

Well I looked at the granite markers
Those tribute to finality to eternity
And then I looked at myself here
Chicken scratching for my immortality
In the church they light the candles
And the wax rolls down like tears
There's the hope and the hopelessness
I've witnessed all these years
We're only particles of change I know I know
Orbiting around the sun
But how can I have that point of view
When I'm always bound and tied to someone
White flags of winter chimneys
Waving truce against the moon
In the mirrors of a modern bank
From the window of a hotel room

I'm traveling in some vehicle
I'm sitting in some cafe
A defector from the petty wars
Until love sucks me back that way

Personally I would have to be rather drunk to dare to attempt 'Justified and Ancient' at karaoke. Mind you - any time I have had the misfortune to be roped into karaoke I have had to down an extra couple of drinks to get my wits about me for the big sing-off! Nice choices. I'm too scared to do mine - there would be some random horrors in there like Mathew Wilder's 'Break a My Stride to be sure.

I must post up some piccies of my original London records 'An evening [wasted] with Tom Lehrer' LP. Fabulous stuff, from the days when records had sleeve notes and the sleeves could entertain you as much as the contents within...

"Smut
Oh give me smut
And nothing but
A dirty novel I can't shut
If it's uncut
And unsubt-
