Back from the Grave.....3

Right, first sorry for deserting the blog for so long. No real excuses I just ran out of things to say. I have been reading all your blogs and listening to a variety of podcasts so I think I'm more or less up to date with the goings-on. Meeting some old friends last weekend has given me a kickstart to try again so here goes. An update

  • I am back being a proper doctor again...hurrah. Medical management was not for me and doctors are stroppy bastards generally so it was rather like herding cats.

    • Mr realdoc had an epiphany on holiday due to this place and now spends a lot of time throwing himself at the North Atlantic in a vain attempt to reverse the aging process. (think King Canute in a wetsuit)

      • Teenrealdoc is now taller and gobbier than me and spends a lot of her time trying to convince me why, despite the fact that Angel is hotter, Spike/Buffy is the more romantic pairing.

        • Baby realdoc is now in big school and growing taller and gobbier by the day. The Sylvanians are being a bit neglected despite the fact that one of them, Dusty Evergreen??, recently scaled Mt. Everest.....no really!

        *

        • Ballykissarse is in the grip of a cultural renaissance with a modern art gallery, an experimental theatre company and an indie rock venue all opening since I last spoke to you.**

        • I am a little older, more gnarly and saggy, but still in search of the perfect post-modern sitcom, life-changing novel or piece of music. I have watched all 5 series of The Wire and was blown away. I watched the entire run of Bonekickers and wasn't. Although Hugh Bonneville is my new unlikely sex symbol after Lost in Austen. I am listening to Fleet Foxes and Bon Iver and as a result will probably buy a lumberjack shirt and move into the shed. So I'll sign off now and hope to keep this updated at least once a week, laters.

        * A work colleague, Dr Nigel Hart, at the summit of Mt. Everest March 08

**This is complete bollocks of course....but we have got a new Lidl.

**********UPDATE********* Doing a pathetic round of the blogroll to drum up some business but I can't seem to comment on a lot of blogs at the moment. But I'll keep trying.

I was in Ireland last week!! I thought of contacting you to arrange a blogmeet, but as you've been dormant for so long, I thought you must be dead.

Afraid you were dropped from the cricket team this season, for the same reason.

She's back! She's back! It's the same one!
I went to the doctor, she said "You'll have to stop masturbating"
        "Why?" I asked
"Because I'm trying to examine you".

Apologies to all of those thousands of readers here who first saw that joke on my facebook page. It is the only new joke I've heard in five years.

You were quite wise to stay dormant until Dave had left the country. I made the mistake of being at home when he visited. The tales I could tell.

I'm so glad you're back. You've spread a Lidl happiness.

Yay! You're back. And glad you've gone back to being a, well, "realdoc" -- it sounds much less frustrating and irritating.

I haven't got anything to say because I'm barely awake yet, but it's great to see you posting again.

Oooh, can I update you on my medical history?

Since you were last here, I got early retirement, due to the kidney stones (which keep coming every six weeks).

Oh, and I had a detached retina in January.

I'm now awaiting an op for the cateract which resulted.

        I knew you'd be interested.

I'm still alive too. Glad that you are, too.

I read it but it's my ADD you see.
Eh, yes, you're back from the grave. What was it like.
They're looking for people like you (the two year research into) near death experience;-)

Ta for the welcome everyone. mm yes I read that about researching near-death experiences, involves putting pictures on the tops of cupboards and things. Sounds like a marvellous use of taxpayers money.

I agree completely - Spike/Buffy is definitely the more romantic pairing. How can you doubt it?? And what about the ending of Lost in Austen?!

Yeh seems romantic until the subjects of teeth cleaning, sanitary protection and childbirth are considered.

        1. YOU'RE BACK!!!! YAAAAAAAY!

        2. good for you on going back into practice. administration is the pathway toward madness.

        3. buffy and angel is the romantic pairing...how beautiful, how doomed...but SPIKE and buffy is the hotter one. try not to subject it to much close examination. just keep the image of mr. marsters before you at all times and you'll understand eventually.

Hurray - you are back! So pleased - and glad you are happier in your work etc. I always get confused between Lidl and Aldi - I think it's the profusion of l's and d's. xx

Good to see you are back! Maybe this should spur me to post more often...

        greetings!
        Lovely to 'see' you again!
As you will have seen already, nothing has happened while you've been gone.

Welcome back! I've even done a medical-themed post in your honour to celebrate your momentous return.

Hurrah! So pleased (if a bit late) - (despite your muddled thinking on Buffy - CLEARLY Spike and Buffy are more romantic. He has a sense of humour, unlike dullard Angel, and a nice chest.)
